History :

Ashanti was born into a middle class family, she was the ‘only’ child to Anita or so she was told at a young age. Her mother married another man [ Domani ] who came from wealth. The money was much needed to her mom, because she struggled even with a single child. He moved them to a city in the south, where Ashanti grew up nice.

She never had to ask for anything, her step-father loved on her like she was his child. She had friends everywhere, because the personality she had was approachable. But there was something her mother was hiding, when she turned nine. Ashanti displayed signs of having Meta-human powers. Which spelled bad news, especially if her father found out. ESPECIALLY if her father found her.

Her father Santiago indeed found out that his ex girlfriend kept this secret from him, kept a whole child hidden. When he stumbled upon a news clipping of an earthquake striking the city, that alone seemed odd. Until he saw a picture of Ashanti, he knew then and there that she was his. So using the resources he had, thanks to him being high up in the food chain in Roman Sionis.

When he found her, in a fit of rage. He killed Anita and her husband Domani, taking Ashanti back to Gotham with him. She was beyond scared that this man would hurt her, being closed off from him the first year until she was told the whole story. Then she found out she had an older brother, as the years went by. Her father Santiago began noticing the same signs her mother did, so in order to help keep her away from government agencies.

He began training her rigorously, in hand to hand, weapons as well as many other various tactics. He also taught her different languages, some stuck and some didn’t. Now at the age of 18 she was on her own after leaving her dad to pursue more for herself.
